Rick Snoman (PhD)

Rick is an award winning producer and engineer. His credits include work for the Chainsmokers, David Guetta, Steve Aoki, Nicky Holloway and others. As an Apple approved mastering and mix engineer, he has delivered projects for labels such as Sony BMG, Polydor, Warner, WEA, Spinnin, XL, Anjuna and Mau5trap.

He was keynote speaker on music production at NAMM in Los Angeles and is co chair of Electronic Music for the Audio Engineering Society. As a member of the AES Education Committee, he has presented at conventions worldwide including New York, Dublin and Los Angeles, and was guest DJ for the TEC Awards After Party in Los Angeles.

Rick is the author of the award winning Dance Music Manual, first published in 2003 by Taylor and Francis. Now regarded as the world’s leading textbook on electronic music production, it has been translated into five languages, nominated for technology book of the year, and is required or recommended reading at many universities including Harvard and Yale.

Alex Bartles (BSc)

An Apple Certified mastering engineer with credits including Nicky Holloway, she is a board member of the Audio Engineering Society UK Executive Committee and co-chair of Electronic/Modern Music. She curated the Audio Engineering Society’s first-ever electronic music event, authored the EDM Mastering Manual (released soon via Routledge), and contributed to the internationally published Dance Music Manual 4th edition.

She has written lyrics and melodies for tracks signed to Blanco Y Negro (WEA) and 1980 Recordings and presented at A.E.S Dublin 2019 about developing educational standards to ensure accurate and appropriate training for producers.

A qualified Audiologist with over 20 years of experience, she also specialises as a tinnitus retraining therapist for music professionals, advising on hearing protection and hearing loss.
